They considered it as a great play set for kids. It is fantastic, very sturdy, looks great and has everything you need for a train table. Assembly was time consuming but fun to set everything up. It is well made and so far very durable.

There are different theme areas on the table and toys that fit with each theme. This KidKraft Train Table is popular with both boy and girl children of a variety of ages that come over to play. The two under table drawers are great for stowing away things. You get everything you need for a complete play experience. The parts pack away easily under the table.

Two reviewers have an issue on the KidKraft train set’s incompatibility with other brands’ train toys. Well for the most part it is, but not 100%, especially if you plan on using Thomas Engine motorized. There are some other drawbacks as well. The track is metric and slightly narrower than true Thomas track so Thomas cars don’t fit completely down into the grooves.

The supplied Chinese cars that come with this set do fit better, though their quality is not even close as good as Thomas brand. The bridge in the center of photo shown is positioned too close to the downhill slope of track and taller cars will not fit underneath it. Because the track is slightly narrower, motorized Thomas Tank Engine, especially, tends to run off of the track and will not stay on.

The issue on the KidKraft train table incompatibility with Thomas & Friends trains is quite difficult to take for granted for some because almost all kids own T & F trains, and kids want those trains to fir completely down into the Kidkraft’s grooves. However, despite this inconvenience, majority of the reviewers still love this wooden train table for their kids so it’s rated highly.
